May Wedding Planning Open Thread

May Wedding Planning Open Thread

A year ago, in May, I wrote an article about my wedding planning drama and my mess. I was a month away from marriage (!!!), my fiancee (now wife) and I spent a lot of time crying and having difficult conversations with our family and friends whose feelings were hurt by our little wedding plans. I’m here to tell the story, though. We succeeded, got married and even filed our taxes jointly this year… victory.

Two years ago, in May, I wrote this post when we presented you with the first of this series of open discussions. We knew then, two months after the recent times began, that it would be a marathon, not a sprint. And how right we were. These monthly publications have become a wonderful place for people to get together, discuss their wedding plans (the good ones, the bad ones and the postponed ones), and more. We offered free advice when we could, you answered the questions you ask yourself in croourcing

As we enter the third calendar year of this collective fever dream, it is becoming increasingly clear that patience, understanding, and “denunciation breaks” are exactly what we need. So, folks … here we go again. This is your common thread, your place to be and present yourself exactly as you are, the space where people will really understand what you are going through and a place where you can ask for advice or just let off steam.

Some of you are about to reach the finish line of wedding planning … in a recent times.

Some of you have recently been busy and are immersing yourself in planning… in a recent times (the tail, we hope).

And many of you graduated from wedding planning courses by 21, 22 or 23 years.

No matter where you are on the journey, we are here for you.
